Pre-filled links for your class page

You can place a link on a learning-management system, class website, syllabus, or event page. The link opens the browser client with connection details already filled in, reducing typing and setup errors.

Participant link

Set the moderator’s email in the moderator parameter. Each participant still enters their own identity and password.

Assistant link

Set both the moderator and assistant identity. To open the assistant directly in presenter mode, add presenter=true.

The moderator email can also be pre-filled for the instructor.

Optional server parameters

Most hosted users do not need these. They are useful for a local or alternate server:

host — server host name
port — normally 23655
server — complete ws:// or wss:// WebSocket endpoint
identity — participant or assistant email/identifier

Security: URL parameters only pre-fill non-secret connection information. Never put a password or API key in a link. Email addresses in a URL may appear in browser history, bookmarks, or learning-management-system logs.

Keep links private when appropriate

The examples use readable email addresses. Your browser may encode special characters automatically when the link is opened. Keep the link on a page that is accessible only to the intended class or group when the moderator identity is not public.
